“My God Is So Great”
Pastor Rev. Tracy Coates
Read:
Ps. 145
Main Text: Ps. 145:3 Great [is] the LORD, and greatly
to be praised; and his greatness [is] unsearchable.
#1.
Great is the LORD!
Ps. 95:3 For the LORD [is] a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
Luke 11:31 The queen of the
south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation,
and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to
hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is]
here.
Luke 11:32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the
judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they
repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas
[is] here.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that
a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 3:16 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
#2.
He is greatly to be praised
1 Chron. 16:25 For great [is]
the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also [is] to be feared above
all gods.
Ps. 48:1 Great [is] the LORD, and greatly to be
praised in the city of our God, [in] the mountain of his
holiness.
#3. His greatness [is] unsearchable.
1John
3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and
knoweth all things.
1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children,
and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world.
Rom. 11:33 O the depth of the riches
both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable [are] his
judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Eph. 3:8 Unto me,
who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I
should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of
Christ;
Rev. 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and
he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the
midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper
of the great God;
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope,
and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ;
Conclusion:
Feb. 1, 2009 During Praise &
Worship – I had an overwhelming thought that the Lord is
greater than all our needs. The Lord is above them all. We need to
look to Jesus for our supply and not to our circumstances. This is
the year of financial breakthrough for the people of God. The Lord
will sustain us through this recession and bring us through
victoriously.
Look to Jesus to supply our needs.
Philippians. 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according
to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The Lord will sustain
us.
Neh. 9:21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the
wilderness, [so that] they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not
old, and their feet swelled not.
Ps. 55:22 Cast thy burden upon
the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the
righteous to be
moved.
